Gym Club Movement Festival

May 8th, 2008 · 1 Comment

On the 16 of April 2008 a few of us, about 30 in fact, went to the octagon center and performed different routines for in front of family and friends and children from other schools. The theme was all around the world; loads of schools came. We practiced for 8 weeks.  We all had different outfits (we looked so cool). Some of us performed the gym routine but we neede mats so had to wait for them to be put out.  At first it was scary but as soon as the music started we tried our best.  We were suported by the techers and staff from the office as well - thank you!

Cuban Music

February 4th, 2008 · No Comments

This year Y5 (Miss Fs class) are doing a performance of Cuban music in Sheffield.  Cuban music is jolly and friendly it has lots of drumming in it.  We are making instruments but we are not going to decorate them because when we play them the decoration will probably fall off!

Eral, who has been to Cuba, has been into school to show us how to play and make our instruments.   We have also been searching for information about Cuban music; there are lots of instruments with wierd names like ’Shakira’! We have a song that we play. It’s called Tin-Go-Go-Go-Go-Go-Go and it keeps repeating itself.

 rockymonster.jpg

On the 4th and 5th of July, Miss F has produced and organised a show to WOW all the parents! The Rocky Monster Show inculdes Professor Fenton, Mrs Danvers (Yes! As in Rebecca!), Gloria Fenton (Professor Fenton’s Daughter), Igor (The Professors servant - and servant on Baron Frankenstein), Rebecca “Rebecca ARghhhhhh!”  Control yourself Mrs Danvers!!!!! Dan (Gloria’ square crush!), Frankie Steinburg, Mungo (the stupidest monster ever!), Elsa (Mungo’s more sensible companian/girlfriend), Inspector Baskerville (Too posh for anything!) The Villagers (Ada - obessed with DOOM! The most odd-looking bunch you’ll ever see!) And not to mention the Narrators - Five smart, elegant story-tellers, who give you the update of each scene. The musicians give the permormance a boost of fun and laughter. The dancers give each song an exciting extra to the singers and musicians. In charge of the CD player is Ross, there to make sure that everything goes smoothly and under control - without Ross, the show wouldn’t go on! And the most importent people are……. drum roll please………. YOU! Who is coming to watch this BRILLIANT show!

Are you wondering what this show is about???

Well, It starts off with Rebecca, Dan and Frankie meeting on a remote foreboding railway station in a neglected corner of England. They are met by an odd-looking station master rather fond of going into trances because of one word…… Fenton! ‘Horror Chord’ They end up at the Fenton Castle - where the inhabitants are doing their daily chores….. we cannot reveal any more! Y5 Greek CD

March 28th, 2007 · Comments Off

After the success of their Greek Extravaganza Performance, the Y5s decided to record the songs onto a CD to sell to their parents as a momento of their assembly.

“It was all very professional and we had to be extra specially quite between the songs so we didn’t record ourselves giggling!”

There where 9 different songs the best song i think was Dancing round the mountain! It was really funny and the best part was the song with Zeus (Callum) Jumping out with a microphone (he looked like the new Elvis presley!

Y5 Greek Extravaganza

March 26th, 2007 · Comments Off

On Friday 23rd March 2007 Y5’s  performed a production. It was about  ancient Greece. It lasted approximately 45 minutes. The main storyline was about a pot seller in Athens that told stories of heroes that had conquered all they saw. In the end Athens fell to pieces as Macedonia attacked Greece. During these 45 minutes all three classes showed how Greece fell into decay. With songs, instrument and acting this play was interesting and amazing.

The day before Miss Freeman (the organiser) held auditions for all of the people who wanted to participate in the wonderful event!everyone was either wearing  fancy dress or a costume-they all looked extremely funny (especially when they did their act).

The Winter Gardens

December 8th, 2006 · Comments Off

Today some children from year five and six went to perform at the winter gardens in the centre of Sheffield. There we played the handchimes, sung Christmassy songs and also some people had to do some solos. On the handchimes we played O little town of Bethlehem, Silent night, O come all ye faithful and away in a manger. The songs we sung were Midnight and The Gift.We had lunch at the winter gardens and Miss Freeman nearly forgot to get the handchimes out of her car boot! All in all we had a brilliant day!

World War II Y6 Play

November 27th, 2006 · Comments Off

dsc01699.JPG

Recently in year 6, we have perormed a World War II play based on ‘Bombs and Blackberries’ for our parents. The play was about a family from Sheffield whose children get evacuated to the country during the heavy bombing.  The children were very homesick so their mother came to rescue them from the nasty housekeeper of Kite Hall, unfortunately the phoney war was phoney no longer.

Throughout the performance we sang a variety of songs including: Run rabbit run, Hang out the washing on the Siegfried line and We’ll meet again. At the end , we drew the raffle for the GIANT Toblerone. Thomas K (y6) was the lucky winner!
