The Year 3s have been learning how to record and manipulate sound.
Using a piece of software called ‘Audacity’, the children recorded a nursery rhyme then used some of the effects to change the way their voices sound.
See if you can identify which of these effects have been used:
~ amplify
~ change pitch
~ change speed
~ change tempo
~ echo
~ repeat
~ reverse
~ wahwah

I will allways remember my first day at Stocky when I enterd the school it was a lot bigger than the infants. I was a bit nervous at first but I soon settled in and before I knew it I was shouting out and annoying the teachers like I still am today. My teacher’s name was Miss Willats she taught us loads especially about The Romans.
In year 4 I can’t forget my teacher Mrs Freeman. She always used to blame everything on me. If she dropped her pen she would allways say .”Callum!” I started to get annoyed with her but at the end of the year I got a prize for never getting in a strop over it all like Tomas would. Also Kieran got a prize for allways getting on with people, yes right.
In year 5 we had a teacher named Mrs Robinson she was the strictiest teacher iI ever came across. You could not even asked for a pencil without getting shouted at. Although at times she could be funny. Also in Mrs Robinsons is where I met Liam wright, at first i thought he was unuseuall like Ashley but he turned out alright.
And lastly there is my year 6 teacher Mrs Gaymond she did not teach us for long because she left for a baby. So we had a teacher called Miss Burston she was quite cheerful but sometimes grumpy but I will still never forget her or any of the other teachers her at Stocky.

When I first entered Stocksbridge it looked like an enchanted playhouse, but that soon changed!
In year three Miss Willats was my teacher. I thought she was great. I was quiet but that soon changed. My fondest memory in Miss W’s class was when we did a class assembly about Roald Dahl. Part of the assembly was to act Fantastic Mr Fox. I was badger - It was fun because I had to drink cider!!!!
Natalie C walked into a lampost and when she got home she had to put a pack of frozen peas on her head; she looked so silly.
In Year Four we had miss Freeman. We went on some scool trips I was so excited.I went in the big school production I was so nervous. We started getting harder homework I was excited at first but not for long!
In year five we had miss Robinson. None of my friends were too keen on her because she was strict. I had her for literacy and numarcy. In the afternoon we always did science it was so boring. Although we did go on the best school trip to Mayfield - we got filthy but I didn’t mind.
In year six we were so happy we had Mrs Gaymond. We had to do boring stuff because of SATs but it was great when we went to lightwater valley. I WENT ON ALL THE SCARY RIDES .

My life in Stocksbridge Junior School is now almost at its end. I’ve had four long years at this wonderful school, and yet it only seems four minutes.
Year 3
On my first day of school the sweet smell of newly bourt books and stationary filled my nostrells. I persificly remember my teater miss Willets showing use round the school I felt so small!
Year four
In year 4 miss Freeman was our teacher. Also in that year I sensed the independance.
Year five
In year 5 I had Miss Robinson.

I will always remember my first day at Junior school. I was so scared because all the children in the years above me were so big and I hardly new anybody in my class. Everything felt so strange for the first couple of weeks because everything was so new- a new teacher, new friends, a new school. I also remember when we got put into our spellings and maths group. Miss lockwood gave us TONES of homework!!!
In year 4 all our year went to Manchester musiem. On the coach back, we got stuck in traffic and it took us ages to get home. I got so board that I fell asleep on Olivia’s sholder. We also went ice skating in year 4 and that was so fun. We went round the ring thousands of times. Miss Freeman also tought us a cool song called ‘I’ve got custard in my underpants’
Miss Robinson was our teacher in year 5. We had a downstairs classroom. The funniest memory of year 5 was when Mr Ronson told us about the dangers of smoking. He started queezing and choking and pretended he was having a heart attack. Another memory was when we got split up into two groups; one group was doing swimming and the other was doing Basketball. I was with my friend, Alice doing basketball. For our warm up we had to run and ither jump or touch the floor. I was running really fast and I suddenly touched the floor and went over into a forward roll. All the people behind me all tripped up over me. It was so funny.
In year 6 , we had Mrs Gaymond. She was my favourite teacher but she left to have a baby. She came back to help out when we went to Light warer valley and she was in our groupe. We went on lots of rides but my favourites were The Claw and The Ultimate[i can’t decide wich one was the best]. At first Laurance didn’ t want to go on it and he was moaning that he felt sick. It was so funny.
I’m really nervous about going up to the high school and I hope that if me and my friends are split up then we can still be friends.

I can’t belive it, I really can’t. All this time, it seems like yesterday when I was in y3, it really does.

* Durying y3, we collected many worms and miss W showed us how to make worm farms and used them in our assembly.
y4:
y4 was the year when we had miss freeman, she shouted at me for nothing.Evary body blamed things on me when I dident do any thing and then I got told off for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
y5:
y5 was a good improovment from y4. we measured sound, how strange.
y6:

We can’t believe we have spent 4 years in S.J.S. To both of us, it only seems like 4 days. Although it does not seem long ago when we entered the school, we know it has been 4 years, and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots has happened.
Cuthbert’s memories…
Y3:
In Y3, I can clearly remember our first assembly, when the hall seemed like a vast field, and the apparatus enormous towers. I later nearly threw up in Mr. Heaton’s new car on the way to hospital (I’d been running on the steps and tripped, smashing my forehead on the ground)! We were also terrified of Mr. Foster as he patrolled the school.
Y4:
Y4 was when we had Miss Freeman, and endured hours of perilous dancing.(Just a joke!) We were also forced to commit sewing, which I was completely terrible at. To make matters worse, I had to sit next to A. Lilley, the terror of the classroom.
Y5:
Mr. Ronson’s final year at S.J.S, and not many people respected that. All the girls chorused: “Why? Why? Why?” and T. Knight decided to show off by eating nettles, and going to the doctor’s 5 minutes later. Miss Robinson was our teacher.
Y6:
My final year at S.J.S, in which we had Mrs. Gaymond, who left to have a baby in April. The SATS were evil, terrible… I cannot bear to write any more.
Needham’s memories:
Y3:
I remember when Mr. Heaton arrived and we all marvelled at how small he was! Our first assembly was amazing- everything seemed huge!
Y4:
When we went ice skating and Cuthbert was so scared he had to grab onto my arm, later falling over and dragging me down with him!! T. Knight told me to let Cuthbert go if he fell over so I would not fall too.
Y5:
In Maths when we always had laughing competitions (Sorry Miss Robinson!) I lost every time, and sometimes Cuthbert ejected snot onto his trousers.
Y6:
After finishing our evil SATS, we all went to the fabulous Lightwater Valley!!! My favourite rides were the Ultimate, a massive roller coaster, and The Eagles Claw, which was terryfying but also really exciting!!!
Both of us have absolutely loved our time at S.J.S, and are very sorry to be leaving.

I can remember when i were in y3 and me and my best friend Courtney - well, we weren’t friends then. Were fighting over a rubber, then Miss Willats (our teacher) shouted at us and then confascated the rubber.
Then when i was in y4 it was so hilarious, because my best mate Paige ate a peice or paper-how stupid!!! then Miss Freeman were inbarasing her telling all the class what she had done. Then every one were laughing so then paige were then Miss Freeman said do you find it funny that you have just ate a piece of paper, then her face went red like a beetroot. he he he he he!!!!
In y5,we went on a trip to Mayfield-it was great. we went on a massive long walk.we had to walk up a massive hill it were so slippy!!! i fell about 20 times!!And every one were flicking mud at me.
Y6, were great i did’nt go to light water valley because i was ill. But every one said it were great. In y6 we had alot of fun. I would love to stay but fortunatly i have to go to secondry school!! i am going to miss Mrs Gaymond i wish i could have one more lesson from her.Miss Burston were great too i will miss all the teachers here!! Mrs Gaymond good look with you’re baby
all for now,

I can’t forget the wonderful memories of the Junior School. In Year 3 the first step’s in the big hall (that were as big as Hogwarts ) made the swet on my forhead spil down my face. The hiar’s on my back stud up on edge like a cat that’s just seen a dog. The scary Y6 eyes were constantly staring at me, making me shiver into a blivion! I remember Miss. Sheedy who told us a wierd story that made us all laugh (well not all of us ).
However in year 4 the memories grew ten times bigger than the ones in year 3 but, still I will never forget the past memories. My teacher (Miss. Freemen ) thought I was extremely funny. Even if I smiled at her she would start laughing her head of at me but I dont really now why. There were many other things that I could tell you but you would be reading it all day. Next is year 5 and oh wernt there some funny ones in that year.
…I really need to learn to type faster becasue it’s now the end of the lesson.
I’ll miss the Juniors

In year 3 i had Miss Willats as my teacher-She was very nice. My fisrt play in y3 was very scary! I was a wigly worm! We had to stuff small baloons into a pair tights.. Me Natalie.C, Alice.L, Caroline.H and Georgina.D looked absoultly helarious with the wigly tights on our heads!
In year 4 we had Miss Freeman as our teacher; she is really nice. We started going into sets by now. We had Mr Ronson as our top-set teacher (i was in that set because i am smart). On one day Georgina.D decided to play dead on Nataile.C’s chair. Nat came back and pulled her chair out and screamed really loud because she thought georgina was dead! Also, to our suprise Mr Ronson didn’t hear them!
In y5 it was so funny. We had Miss Robinson as our teacher. Also Mr Roson was the non-contact teacher.Though i haven’t had many memories execpet from the time Mr Ronson had hole in his trousers. It Was really funny.
Y6 is the best year ever. My best memory was of the feeling of finishing SATs. It was great!
Theese are only a few of my memories i will tresure always.

I wil allways remember my first step in the Junior School. I arrivied at 8:45 and entered my first class in this fantastic school - Miss Willats’! In year 3, I remember in literacy my teacher, Miss Lockwood, gave the literacy class lots and lots of spellings and it took all weakend to finish them ( all.)
In year 4, our teacher was miss. Freeman. In that year she took the year 4’s on a ice-skating trip; we went to Ice Sheffield! I remember me holding Alice’s hand, but then I finally fell on my buttocks and my bum went num! Also in year 4, for literacy I had Mr Ronson! He was a great teacher! But in literacy, my friend Georgina, played a joke on me1 I went to sharpen my pecil next to the bin, so Georgina thought it was funny to play dead on my chair! So when I came back to sit down and Georgina was laying on my chair and pretending she was dead, so I screemed and Mr Ronson couldn’t hear me! natalie smells
Our teacher in year 5 was Miss Robbinson - she could get a bit stressed! But she was still a nice teacher. In healthey weak, Mr Ronson taught us the warnings of smoking. So he did an exsample of how people will breath if they smoke! Mr Ronson starterd breathing heally and was making a funny noise. ( hhhuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhuuuuuuuhhhhh) It was so funny!
Iy was our last year in years six and we had the best teacher ever, Mrs Gaymond! She was so nice. But the unluky thing was, I had to sit next to Oliver. He did not stop trumping! He was so anyoing. Oliver did not share anything. He was so moody.
But it was a great life in this school and I’ll never forget it here at Stocksbridge Junior School!

My stocky memories are going to stay with me all my life and i will forget them and never forget my friends!
Year 3
I remember my first step in the school when i moved into year 3 i felt so small that I could’nt move at all. I remember in year 3 when Miss Willats gave me star of the week! I was so pleased with myself!!! We all had to write in pencil and we could’nt write in pen at all.
Year 4
I can remember my first school play i took part in (it was so cool)! I got a custume made that i could wear and that had never happened before and it was so exciting for me.
Year 5
In year 5 when Mr Ronson was teaching us , when we were lining up he used my head as a cup stand! And also when he was teaching us about smoking he was making deep breathes but also at the same time he was making funny noises. Also we went to the Museum of Science and Indusry.
Year 6
We went to light water valley in year 6, i went on a ride called Eagle’s Claw i felt sick when i came off it. I also went on a ride called The Ultimate it was terrifing, i was getting jolted from side to side.

I will really miss the Junior School!!

When i first entered Stocksbridge Junior School i thought it was soooo big but as the years pass i think this school is quite tiny . I can remember when i used to think the school toilets had ghosts in them so i never went to them.
Ican remember when in the middle of year 3 when we had miss willats, all my class argued over a little corner where to sit on the floor so miss willats said from then on that place is now for the people that were Special Person on that day.
I can remember at the beginin of year 4 when we had miss Freeman she told us that when we need the toilet we need to do a ‘t’ sign instead of just putting our hand up because it would interupt the lesson. Also my best friend Rhiannon was about to leave to Canada i was so upset and i had to take her art work home with me that made me feel a bit better because then i had a bit of her with me.
I can remember in year 5 , when we had miss Robbinson Thomas Knight eat a nettle because he was showing off like always.
I can remember in year 6 we had mrs Gaymond . After Christmas we found out that she was pregnant and we all wondered who we’d have while she was off. Then we found out we had miss Burston . She was really nice like all the other teachers are. When we went on a trip to light water valley Mrs Gaymond came and we all went and hugged her.It was great on that trip. I went on the mouse trap i was so scared at first and i anted to get off but then i as on quite a lot it was that good. I also went on the ladybird it was quite fast but not that scary. It went up a hill a dropped really fast everyone screamed but i didn’t.
The years have past soo quick as fast as light. i will miss the teachers but i will keep visiting them now and again.

I will always remeber my life at stocksbridge junior school it has been the greatest four years of my life.
My first teacher was Miss Willats she was great when she was in a good mood but when she was was in a bad mood she shouted loud! I was scared when i was in year three because my sister had told me people put your head down the toilet so i didn’t dare go to the toilet then i realised that she was just tring to scare me!
In year four i was in Miss Freeman’s, we went to manchester musiem, it was so boring, we look at things in the olden days and trains (boring)! We also went ice-skating Natalie.c was holding my hand (because she couldn’t skate but at the end of the day she could )!
In year five we had Miss Robinson the funniest momories was when Mr. Ronson had a hole in his trousers he did it when he got of his chair! Also when Mr. Ronson showed us what happened to you if you smoked (it was so funny!)
In year six at christmas Mrs Gaymoned had a christmas card saying to MR+MRS gaymoned and bump i wondered what it ment then it came to me she, was prednant! It was a tring year working hard towards my S.A.T.s. after we had done our S.A.T.s we went to light water valley Mrs Gaymoned came in our group we went on nearly all the ride it was a great day out! Hello everybody! This is Charlotte and Rebecca reporting for S.J.S’s bloggy thingy! We have lots of memories to share from over the last 4 years in school.
We can remember when…
In Year 3 we once told Thomas K he couldn’t play the recorder! He cried and told Miss W and then we got done! (Well, is was Rebecca - but I was laughing!)
In Year 4 we had Mr Ronson for the first time in English and he looked like he had googly eyes because of his glasses. He went through our books and made comments about them which was SCARY!!!!
In Year 5 Mr Ronson told us the affects of smoking and what it does to you. He started breathing heavily and making weird noises like uhhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu.
In Year 6 we went to Light Water Valley. We went on the Eagles Claw, a ride which spins you around and you go really high, The Ultimate, the longest rollercoaster in Europe and The Flying Camels, a ride which you pull a leaver and you go really high. It was scary-NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will really miss this school - NOT!
Toodles!

I remember when Mr Ronoson split his trousers and he looked at the whole school in ebarassment.
I remember when year 5 went to Kelham Island and we went in the Anderson Shelter in Groups!
I remember when coming up to the Stocksbridge Junior School. It was nerve-wrecking and I was stood by my friend (Tom) since I was so terrified. Me and Tom were petrified of all the Year 6’s.
I remember when Tom went into the first classroom in the school with a new teacher (Miss Williats). He looked around, scared.
I remember when we went Ice-Skating in Year 4. The que was SO long that we had to wait nearly a hour just to get out ice-skates! Tom fell over and everyone stared and laughed.
I remember when we went to the Butterfly house and I saw a Beautifully merged pink, black and yellow Butterfly.
I remember when Oliver (my other friend) trumped in Miss Russle’s class and she said ” Oliver, do you nedd to go to the toilet?” Oliver said “Yes,” and legged it all the way to the toilet.
I remember when Tom played the “Zippy” in the play, he was fantastic!
I remeber when I was in the Christmas Play 2006 and it was great! I played a snowman
I remember when Mr. Hollow broke his chair, it was hilarious!

On Monday 25th June 2007 , 5 people from y5 were chosen to go on a trip to Kelham Island. These people were Tom, Liam, Zakk, Kate and Summer. There were 15 authors and 1 poet there. In the morning we got to work with Anne. We were writing poems about Kelham Island. In the afternoon we worked with an author called Jane but we only got to work with her for 10 mins because we quickly had to be evacuated. It had rained so much that the river nearby was about to burst. Apparently within 30 minutes of us being evacuated to the Winter Gardens on higher ground, the river burst and flooded the whole of Kelham Island. We eventually made it back to school but unlike lots of other schools in Sheffield, ours wasn’t closed!
This year’s sponsored event
This year’s sponsered event was a penalty shoot out with Steve Adams a former Sheffield Wednesday player. The cause for the sponsered event was to raise money for sport equipment for the school. There was also a a sum of money to ensure a education for a child in Kenya . A sum of money was donated to Bluebell hospice.
The Y6’s were the first to participate, they had to be split into two teams the aim as you may or may not know was to score as maany goal against the opposing team. We had to shoot against miss willats (she even saved Alex’s shots!) and others against miss sheehan.

On Thursday 28th of June the y6s went on a trip to lightwater valley. The y6s were on the coach for approximately 2hrs. When they finaly arrived the year 6 groups went on the first ride (the ultimate swings). The next ride they went on was the eagles claw, a rotating bar in the shape of an eagles claw and many more rides.
We had a great day but we were very tired on the way home - even Mr Heaton and Miss Burston fell asleep on the coach. It was especially nice to see mrs Gaymond!
