The Cricket Festival

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

A couple of weeks ago Miss Kiff took a few children to a cricket festival. She slpit us into 3 diffrent groups: group a, group b and group c .  We were against Deepcar School and Saint Ann’s. The competition was quite tough.  The competition was supposed to end at 4:30 but finished at 5:20 instead so we were a little late home! It was the most fun ever; Miss K said we were all very sportsmanly.  Amazingly Group A came 2nd overall!

Writing with an author

Over the past few weeks five very lucky people have had the chance to work with the author Daniel Blythe they were also given the chance to go on a school trip to Kelham Island. Every Friday morning Thomas W, Kate I, Zakk W, Summer W and Liam D worked with Daniel doing various activities. Some of these activities were; creating our own imaginary characters and writing our own stories based on simple objects such as a bouncy balls, torches, hammers and wallets. These very lucky children thoroughly enjoyed working with the author and are also very excited about going to the museum at Kelham Island and working with other authors.

At the end of the day he picked people who were really good at diffrent skips to put on a skipping show with him. During the week we did fruit tasting. There was about fifteen diffrent fruits that were layed out on tables for you to walk past and taste after tasting the fruit we could pick our five favourite food and make a fruit cocktail. After fruit tasting we had to get our kits on ready for basketball . The man who ran basket was called paul he did a warm up with us then we just shooted baskets . On the last day we did Lets Go Kids we did activites including the parachute. There was a cheerleader who did a dance performance.

Sports Day CANCELLED

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

Sports day was meant to happen on Friday the 15th of June 2007. But it is cancelled till the 17th July 2007. It was cancelled because of the really bad weather which caused lots of roads and houses around Sheffield to flood! It would of been dangerous to have hade sports day because the grass was wet so we would slip and get drenched!

Penalty Shoot Out

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

On Friday 29th June Steve Adams will be holding a penalty shoot out. The person with the most money raised for the charities will win a signed Wednesday or United shirt. Half the money will go to a charity in Africa to help the poor people to get clean water and help get medications. The other half of the money will go to Blue Bell Wood cancer charity. The person we are shooting against is an ex-Wednesday keeper and maybe Mr F and Mr H might have a crack at it too!!

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

 rockymonster.jpg

On the 4th and 5th of July, Miss F has produced and organised a show to WOW all the parents! The Rocky Monster Show inculdes Professor Fenton, Mrs Danvers (Yes! As in Rebecca!), Gloria Fenton (Professor Fenton’s Daughter), Igor (The Professors servant - and servant on Baron Frankenstein), Rebecca “Rebecca ARghhhhhh!”  Control yourself Mrs Danvers!!!!! Dan (Gloria’ square crush!), Frankie Steinburg, Mungo (the stupidest monster ever!), Elsa (Mungo’s more sensible companian/girlfriend), Inspector Baskerville (Too posh for anything!) The Villagers (Ada - obessed with DOOM! The most odd-looking bunch you’ll ever see!) And not to mention the Narrators - Five smart, elegant story-tellers, who give you the update of each scene. The musicians give the permormance a boost of fun and laughter. The dancers give each song an exciting extra to the singers and musicians. In charge of the CD player is Ross, there to make sure that everything goes smoothly and under control - without Ross, the show wouldn’t go on! And the most importent people are……. drum roll please………. YOU! Who is coming to watch this BRILLIANT show!

Are you wondering what this show is about???

Well, It starts off with Rebecca, Dan and Frankie meeting on a remote foreboding railway station in a neglected corner of England. They are met by an odd-looking station master rather fond of going into trances because of one word…… Fenton! ‘Horror Chord’ They end up at the Fenton Castle - where the inhabitants are doing their daily chores….. we cannot reveal any more! The bad news about sports day.

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

rainy-oriental-garden.JPG

On the 15th of June 2007 , we were supposed to have our sports day, but unfortunately, due to the rain, it had to be cancelled. Luckily enough, it will now be postponed to the 17th July 2007. I was looking forward to the relay race and I hope that this year will be a success! Ironically, last year’s sports day was also cancelled because of the very hot weather. In my race, I am going to compete against my best friend, that will be a big challenge!

The sports days will be now on the 17th July that, I hope will give it pleanty of time to dry out. I was wanting a sucessful sports day because last year it was cancelled because of hot wheather! But this year, please, make the weather just perfect.

Outdoor Athletics

June 19th, 2007 · Comments Off

Recently, our school took part in the Outdoor Athletics competition at Woodburn Roud. It was 3:30 until 7:00pm. It was a very good experience for all of us. We did lots of training with Wani which was great fun.  Some people luckily got through to the final and I was one of those people. I was amazed because I thought I was rubbish.

It was really good fun and i would like to go again.

This is a photo of us practising our baton changes.

Penalty Shoot Out

Steave Adams (the man who comes to our school and teaches football skills) is helping us with this year’s school fundraiser. Every year we have a fundraiser to raise money to sponsor a family in kenya and help them have a better life. To go with this year’s fundraiser we are having a competition that the chilldren of the school can enter. You have to make something to do with Steve Adams and his penalty shoot out.

This is a picture of when Steve Adams came into our school and taught football to year six.
