Today some children from year five and six went to perform at the winter gardens in the centre of Sheffield. There we played the handchimes, sung Christmassy songs and also some people had to do some solos. On the handchimes we played O little town of Bethlehem, Silent night, O come all ye faithful and away in a manger. The songs we sung were Midnight and The Gift.We had lunch at the winter gardens and Miss Freeman nearly forgot to get the handchimes out of her car boot! All in all we had a brilliant day!

On Thursday 23rd eight children from each Y6 class, who had filled their PFWA reward books, went down to the sports centre for an indoor lacrosse tournament. There were three other schools taking part: Nook Lane primary school, Deepcar St. Johns and of course us, Stocksbridge Junior School. We were split into three teams - Mrs G’s class, Mr H’s class and Ms R’s class. I was in Mrs G’s team. First we played Deepcar and lost 3-1. Then we played Nook Lane and lost 4-2. We then played Ms R’s and drew 2-2. After that we played Deepcar and smashed them 4-2. Finally we played Mr H’s and drew 1-1. Our ref was Mr M, AKA the all powerful wrath, who had taken our coaching sessions at school. We had a really good afternoon and will be very happy to go again.
