Pupils of SJS became catwalk models last week in a fundraising fashion show!  It was a huge success as we managed to raise nearly £500.

Many thanks to the BRATS clothing company and to many of the teaching assistants who organised the whole event.

On Monday 2nd October, the children in Year 6 dressed as children from World War II and were evacuated to the Kelham Island museum to learn about life during the second World War.

We raised over £1000 in a spellathon for the NSPCC.

We are pleased to be able to offer parents the opportunity to purchase many of the software titles we have in school, allowing the further support of learning at home.  All of the titles available have been designed and produced by Sherston, a reputable manufacturer of educational software, and support the work that pupils undertake in school.  We have purchased ‘community licenses’ for all of the Sherston titles available, which allow your child to use the software at home as well as at school.  

Many of these software titles retail at £19.95, however we are making them available to you for just £5.00 per CD-ROM with even further reductions for specific sets of software, for example, the Junior Science Series of three CD-ROMs for £12.50.  We have also created a bundle of five CD-ROMs which support the revision of Year 6 pupils.  The funds raised through the sale of these software titles will go towards the purchase of new child-friendly digital cameras.  These will enhance the provision of animation and film in our school and also allow children to assess their own performances in music and physical education.
